This summer, we are sharing a series of profiles on our former library interns and alumni of Seattle University School Law. We love to hear what they're up to!

Where do you work and what is your role?

CUNY School of Law Library.  I am the Director of the Law Library and Professor of Law.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Working with the students, alumni, staff and faculty.

What did you do before law school, and what led to you pursue a law degree?

Worked for an advocacy group on the rights of the intellectual disabled. The work experience gave me exposure to the legal process but it was immigration issues that my family was facing that I thought it would be helpful to learn more the legal process.

What have you found most valuable during your law school education?

You learn how to think in a western legal system as well as understanding legal concepts and how to ask questions.

What advice do you have for SU students or grads?

Learn from success and failure. Embrace the challenges no matter how hard they may be.

What was your most memorable experience in the library or at SU generally?

The law library staff was the best. They were willing to help and teach me. I could not thank them enough. It is because of the library staff that I decided to attend the UW Law Library Graduate program. The library staff was the smartest group of people; they knew more about the other segments of the law school community and they were thoughtful and kind.
